I was delighted to see in the report at Neighbourhood Services on Tuesday afternoon that the children’s play equipment at the Splash at Montrose Beach was being upgraded and I asked for the details on this to be sent to me. On Wednesday I opened the local press and found that work on the upgrade had started and would continue into July. After the training session I was at in Forfar I visited the Splash on my way home and saw what was being done there, and spoke to the cafe owner about the issues. I have subsequently been in contact with the Director with a series of questions as I am appalled that the work is taking place now and will continue into the main tourist season. I cannot understand why the work was not programmed to be done outwith the tourist season as there are so many months when the work could be done.
